The Department of Homeland Security shutdown is causing massive disruptions at the nation’s busiest travel hub.

Travelers are being advised to arrive at least four hours early for flights due to severe staffing shortages.

The airport announced via social media.

Hundreds of federal agents have reportedly resigned since the funding impasse began in mid-February over immigration enforcement policies.

The DHS attributed the staffing crisis to financial hardships faced by officers who are forced to seek outside employment.

Republicans argue the current situation highlights the consequences of stalled negotiations.

“As the Democrats’ DHS shutdown continues, many TSA officers are facing extraordinary financial hardship—forcing them to call out of work and take on side jobs to support their families,”

The Department of Homeland Security stated.

To mitigate the delays, ICE agents were seen on-site in Atlanta to provide operational support to TSA teams.

President Trump commented on the deployment, specifically addressing the use of masks by ICE officials during their temporary assignment.

He noted that while masks are vital for protection against criminals during border operations, they are unnecessary in this context.

“I would greatly appreciate, however, NO MASKS, when helping our Country out of the Democrat caused MESS at the airports, etc. Thank you!”
