DeSantis Signs New Legislation Citing “Sanity” and “Normalcy”
Knowledge Nuggets:
- Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis, has signed multiple bills into law focused on sexual orientation, gender identity, and sex reassignment procedures.
- The newly enacted laws prohibit sex changes for minors, require use of public restrooms in line with biological sex, limit discussions of sexual orientation and gender identity in classrooms, and regulate drag performances.
- These laws, signed under the campaign slogan “Let Kids Be Kids”, are set to go into effect by July.
Florida’s Republican Governor, Ron DeSantis, has invoked a series of legislative actions emphasizing ‘sanity’ and ‘normalcy’ in the state’s governance of issues related to sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
Asserting the state to be a “refuge of sanity and a citadel of normalcy”, the governor has signed off on several bills that are raising eyebrows, both within and outside the state.
One significant piece of this legislative suite is the ban on sex change procedures for minors. This move restricts access to puberty blockers, hormone replacement therapy, and sex change surgeries for children.
Moreover, it empowers the state to intervene if a minor is subjected to or threatened with such procedures.
Also included in the legislative spree is the regulation of public restroom usage, requiring individuals to use facilities that align with their biological sex. Furthermore, educators from pre-K through eighth grade are now restricted from discussing sexual orientation and gender identity under an expansion of the existing Parental Rights in Education law.
Another intriguing aspect of the new laws is the additional regulations placed on drag performances, particularly concerning minors’ involvement. Finally, these laws are set to come into effect in July, signifying significant changes in the next school year’s landscape.
Clear thoughts:
The “Let Kids Be Kids” initiative is more than a slogan; it’s an essential reminder that childhood should be a time of innocence and discovery. By prohibiting sex change procedures for minors, Florida is placing the well-being of children over radical ideologies. The risks involved in irreversible sex-change procedures are significant, and children are ill-equipped to make such life-altering decisions. It’s our duty as a society to protect them.
The move to limit discussions on sexual orientation and gender identity in classrooms ensures that the influence of external agendas is minimized. It’s a step towards preserving a child’s right to mature and discover their identity in a natural, unpressured manner.
Governor DeSantis’ legislation also stands as a defense for personal privacy and safety, requiring individuals to use public restrooms that correspond to their biological sex. While some may see this as a restriction, I see it as a reassurance that the safety and comfort of all individuals are respected.
The measures taken by Governor DeSantis are bold, some may even say radical, but they are necessary. He is providing a refuge of sanity in a world often driven by extremes, and for that, he deserves commendation. As we navigate these times of change, it’s crucial to remember that the preservation of our values is worth fighting for.

The term “Mew Normal” burns my keester to a crisp. It makes me want to adjust the “new normal” person/’s attitude with a right cross.
I deal in absolutes and not relatives. The concept of good and evil has never changed for me, and right and wrong are cast in iron and cannot be changed either. – When the wokies try to tell me it’s OK to expose themselves to kids and try to turn them into perverts, I say it’s OK to solve the problem with a piece of 5/8″ manila hemp rope like was used to reform child molesters in the past. .,,, Totally eliminated any problem with replete offenders. If we stuck to the “old normal there would have never been any LBGQRSTWXYZ alphabets to force their perverted ideas on our kids. – Way to go Florida. God bless all that voted for these laws. .

Ephesians 6:12 ESV
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
