Trump spokesman slams Fox News for censoring “President Trump’s words” [Video]
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- Former President Donald Trump’s spokeswoman Liz Harrington called out Fox News after it censored some of Trump’s statements about widespread voter fraud during his Saturday interview.
- Harrington also tweeted a ‘jump edit’ footage of the interview.
- Trump has repeatedly claimed that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged.”
Liz Harrington, the current spokesman of former President Donald Trump, said on Sunday that Fox News ‘filtered’ a recent interview with Trump. The network removed a portion where the former president has again talked about baseless claims of widespread election fraud during last November’s presidential election.
Harrington stressed that Fox News censored Trump’s statements during his interview on ‘Unfiltered with Dan Bongino’ Saturday. The former president was asked to talk about President Joe Biden’s Democratic policies.
“Fox News DELETED President Trump’s words,” Harrington tweeted shortly following the interview.
She also shared a YouTube video that showed a “jump edit” version of the interview.
Harrington, though, defended Bongino, saying that he remains an ally.
“This had nothing to do with @danbongino, the interview happened to be on his show. Dan is a great friend of America First,” she said. “It was @FoxNews who cut out President Trump’s statement about the Fake Election, just like they have cut out coverage of election fraud ever since.”
Since prior to leaving the White house, Trump ━ in most of his public appearances and TV guestings ━ had continuously claimed widespread voter fraud, without evidence. His legal team had reached out to several courts but all of them rejected their accusations.
Days after the Election Day last November, news cable networks with the likes of ABC, NBC and CBS stopped airing Trump’s White House new conference after he began his baseless claims that he was cheated and the election was “rigged.”
Meanwhile, conservative news agencies such as Newsmax, One America News Network (OAN) and a few Fox News hosts boosted Trump’s claims, as they attempted to taint the credibility of the results as well as the election process.
Shortly after, when voting company Smartmatic and Dominion threatened to file a lawsuit against Fox News, the network changed its narrative about the voter fraud claim. Last February, Fox News even aired a new package that refuted the election fraud claims and the conspiracy theories which were earlier promoted by some of its hosts.
“This is just as bad as Big Tech. They are putting President Trump’s honest statement, and the concerns of tens of millions of Americans, down the Memory Hole,” Harrington said, adding that the ‘Unfiltered’ interview was “filtered” all along.
