These developments follow Iran’s attack on the U.S. Al-Udeid Airbase in Qatar and a series of American airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities. The protests are the largest since 2022, with unrest spreading to 21 provinces and reports of violence intensifying in western Iran.

Iran’s reformist President Masoud Pezeshkian has urged internal reflection and solutions to the crisis.

“We are to blame… Do not look for America or anyone else to blame. We must serve properly so that people are satisfied with us…. It is us who have to find a solution to these problems,” Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Thursday, according to Reuters.
