Restitution totaling $491,000 was awarded to 52 identified victims, emphasizing the administration’s focus on supporting those harmed by criminal activity.

Kristi Noem, the Secretary of Homeland Security, met with ‘Angel Families’ in Bakersfield, California, expressing the administration’s commitment to advocating for justice for Americans affected by immigration failures.

“The President’s Homeland Security Task Forces are a landmark achievement that highlight what the federal government can achieve with a leader like President Trump who is willing to slash red tape, increase coordination, and put the safety of the American people first,” said White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson.

The initiative responded to President Trump’s executive order, “Protecting the American People Against Invasion,” prioritizing enforcement and securing the country’s borders. The multi-agency team worked throughout the Lower 48, from major cities to border towns such as San Ysidro, Laredo, and Nogales.

One Coast Guard-led operation in Puerto Rico apprehended a smuggler carrying 790 pounds of cocaine, valued at $5 million. Officials identified 257 victims nationwide, 27 of whom were children, demonstrating the severity of the crimes addressed.

President Trump emphasized the seriousness of the threats by stating,

“It should now be clear to the entire world that the cartels are the ISIS of the Western Hemisphere.”
