Billionaire Backs DeSantis Bid for Prez

Published

on

The Skinny:

  • Tech billionaire Peter Thiel supports Gov. Ron DeSantis for president in 2024 but cautions against over-focusing on culture wars.
  • Thiel believes that focusing on identity politics and wokeness could distract from economic issues.
  • Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is expected to challenge former President Trump for the Republican nomination in the 2024 race.

Tech billionaire and venture capitalist Peter Thiel recently expressed his support for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as a strong candidate for the 2024 presidential election, should he become the Republican nominee.

However, Thiel issued a warning to DeSantis on the Honestly with Bari Weiss podcast, advising him not to place too much emphasis on culture wars and identity politics in his potential campaign.

According to Thiel, an over-reliance on these topics, which DeSantis has been known to frequently address, could divert attention away from crucial economic concerns. Thiel shared his belief that identity politics and the so-called “woke religion” could distract from economic stagnation issues that should be addressed in the upcoming election.

In recent times, DeSantis has been positioning himself as a staunch opponent of “wokeness,” declaring Florida as the place where “wokeness goes to die.” Just this week, the Florida legislature passed two bills that stirred controversy: one prohibiting teachers from using transgender students’ preferred pronouns, and another cutting funding for diversity programs in higher education institutions. DeSantis is anticipated to sign these measures into law.

Though DeSantis has not officially entered the 2024 race, it is widely believed that he will challenge former President Donald Trump for the Republican nomination, with a possible campaign launch in June. In the forming GOP primary, DeSantis remains Trump’s closest competitor, as both consistently lead over other potential candidates in polls.

Clear Thoughts:

Friends, I see the importance of addressing the culture wars. Yet, I find myself agreeing with Peter Thiel’s recent advice to Governor Ron DeSantis. While it is crucial to maintain our traditional values and stand against the wave of “wokeness,” we must not lose sight of the economic issues that impact every American.

DeSantis has shown his dedication to fighting against the identitarian agenda, and his recent actions in Florida prove that he is unafraid to take a stand. However, if he aims to reach the White House, it is essential for him to develop a comprehensive platform that tackles not only the culture wars but also the economic challenges facing our nation.

It is undeniable that identity politics and the “woke religion” have infiltrated our society. Still, we cannot allow ourselves to be consumed by these distractions at the expense of our economic growth and stability. DeSantis must focus on job creation, economic policies, and fostering an environment for businesses to thrive – these are the issues that resonate with the average American voter.

As Thiel wisely pointed out, we must strike a balance between preserving our cultural identity and addressing the economic stagnation that hampers our nation’s progress. Governor DeSantis has the potential to be a great leader, and I support his bid for the presidency. However, I hope he takes Thiel’s advice to heart and creates a well-rounded platform that benefits all Americans.

The 2024 election is one of the most pivotal moments for our nation at least in my lifetime. While the culture wars are an essential battle, it is not the ONLY battle. We must not forget the importance of economic prosperity. I believe in Governor DeSantis’ ability to rise to the challenge and lead our country to a brighter future. Let us stand together, united in our fight for a better America. God Bless you all!

DeSantis needs to fix the economic woes in FL before he can even think about running. The disaster happening in FL is coming to light. He doesn’t have the balls to fight the deep swamp. His little overseas trip didn’t help either.

He needs to stay in Florida or the progressives will take over and they will raise taxes and Disney will run the state.

Both Donald Trump and Ron De santis running for President will be disastrous for the Party, America and Americans. Voting will be split. The stronger candidate should go on and the other support him.

Trump would absolutely turn things around both at home and abroad. However, I believe that if he were to win in the primaries, then we would end up with another Democratic President. They will, again, fight tooth and nail to keep out Orange Man Bad. Hopefully, Desantis will run and win the primaries. Then we might have a chance at averting disaster.
