Deported Illegal Immigrant Charged in Queens Teen’s Death

On Saturday, NYPD arrested Edwin Cruz Gomez for a fatal hit-and-run that killed 16-year-old Jhoanny Gomez-Alvarez.
Authorities report the girl died at the scene, while her mother survived and is recovering.
“Edwin Cruz Gomez, 38, was charged with murder, three counts of attempted murder and two counts of assault after allegedly running down the two victims after they rejected his sexual advances,” a senior ICE source said.
The suspect was using a gray 2009 Chevy Suburban and also collided with a parked car during the incident.
Gomez was deported from the United States in 2005 but returned and was arrested several times for driving under the influence.
An immigration detainer has now been issued.
ICE detained Gomez in 2013, but he was released three months later and disappeared from custody following participation in the Alternatives to Detention program.
In October 2024, ICE did not detain him after his arrest for possessing a forged instrument because he didn’t meet current administration’s enforcement priorities.
On November 13, 2024, Gomez was convicted in Nassau County for driving without a license, served five days, and was released.
He was arrested again in January for another DUI but was freed before a new detainer could be lodged.
This case has sparked new calls for stringent enforcement of immigration laws to protect communities.

If they’ve been deported before and they come back and wind up killing someone they should be killed on the spot when found then kick their body out of a plane over their home country.

It seems that the Left and Biden won’t take responsibility for anything that they did…that should change. Their actions of allowing millions of ILLEGAL and UNDOCUMENTED alien into this country is nothing less than a criminal act. Biden, Harris, and the entire democratic establishment should all be held responsible for the problems they have caused. At the least they should be censured, barred from public office and the entire democratic party be held responsible and fined for every penny they have in their coffers to repay what their actions have caused taxpayers like me!
