WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • A former staff of Joe Biden claimed that the former vice president sexually abused her in the early 90s.
  • Tara Reade’s former neighbor claims she knew about the incident because Reade told her about it.
  • Biden hasn’t addressed the allegation yet, though his campaign team said the claims are all false.

A lady presented herself telling she knows about the allegations made by an ex-staff member of Joe Biden, who claims that the former vice president sexually molested her in the early 90s.

The former staffer, Tara Reade, worked on Biden’s Senate office in 1993 as the manager for the intern program.

Last month, Reade publicly accused the Democrat’s presumptive presidential nominee of sexually harassing her in an unoccupied hallway on Capitol Hill. Prior to the allegation, Reade earlier accused Biden of unsolicited touching.

Biden’s camp denied any involvement of the Democrat nominee to any forms of a sexual offense.

On Monday, the Business Insider interviewed a certain Lynda LaCasse, who said she resides next to Reade’s apartment in 1993 and claimed she remembers Reade tearfully shared with her the story of apparent molestation.

LaCasse told the outlet that she believed it happened as she recalled Reade discussing the incident.

She further said Reade discloses to her that she adored her boss, Joe Biden. Reade then detailed that Biden cornered her on a wall, and his hands reached under her skirt to touch her private part.

LaCasse said Reade felt abused, and at that time, she feels really helpless.

The woman, though, acknowledged that she was a Democrat, and Biden is still her choice for president.

Meanwhile, the Biden camp reiterated on Monday that they already have an earlier statement about the allegations.

Biden’s deputy campaign manager, Kate Bedingfield, said on a statement that the former VP has always been an advocate of women’s protection through his initiatives in culture and lawmaking.

Bedingfield disputed Reade’s claim, noting that Biden was the main sponsor and pushed for the legislation and reapproval of the Violence Against Women Act. The camp’s head also thinks that such allegation should be reviewed by a media firm that is independent.

Business Insider also interviewed Collin Moulton, Reade’s brother, and said his sister also told him about what Biden allegedly did.

Reade also said she told the incident to Biden’s senior aides during that time; however, the former staff members she named on the reports with The Associated Press and The New York Times denied her allegation.

Reade further said she proceeded to write a formal complaint at the Senate’s human resources about the accusations of unsolicited touching. However, Reade did not go to the police to lodge a report.

Following Reade’s statement, news outlets looked for the complaint but were unsuccessful in finding one.

Earlier this month, Reade went to Washington, D.C. police department to file a complaint about the incident.

As of this time, Biden has not yet personally answered the issue in public.

Reade is the only woman to accuse Biden of sexual assault.
