WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Aiming to boost Joe Biden’s winnability in Pennsylvania, Former President Barack Obama is set to attend his former vice president’s campaign rally in Philadelphia on Wednesday evening.
  • Biden has spent most of his campaign in the key swing state of Pennsylvania.
  • Obama has been busy helping out fellow Democrats running for office through fundraising efforts and ad appearances.

Former President Barack Obama is set to join his former vice president and Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden to the campaign trail on Wednesday evening in Philadelphia.

As Election Day comes in less than two weeks, Obama would help in boosting the candidacy of his former White House partner in Pennsylvania, being one of the battleground states.

The former president continues to be one of the party’s greatest assets, as Democrats claim, and it would help Biden to achieve his goal of returning back to the White House.

“Especially in Philadelphia, he is the ultimate draw and still a great standard-bearer for Democrats,” said former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter.

“I think he helps remind people what’s at stake, what being president is about, what things could be like,” Nutter added.

Biden has come to Pennsylvania most of his campaign, and Obama’s visit would aim to advance his attempt for a victory. If President Donald Trump would lose the state, his reelection bid would drop significantly.

Obama was also busy making efforts for fellow Democrats. He has raised funds for some House legislators and has appeared in ads for top candidates such as Sara Gideon, who is running for Senator in Maine, and other incumbents like Sen. Gary Peters (MI).

Biden told reporters last week that his former commander-in-chief is “doing enough” for their campaign.

“He’ll be out on the trail, and he’s doing well,” he said.

Biden’s campaign continues to concentrate on retrieving the three Rust Belt states called the Democratic #BlueWall ━ Michigan, Pennslyvania, and Wisconsin.

The aforementioned states include huge white working-class voters, who in 2016 opted to go with Trump instead of Hillary Clinton, who then was leading in the polls. Currently leading by around seven percent in these states, the Democratic presidential frontrunner hopes to conquer all of them.

At present, Biden also leads in Republican-led states such as Georgia and Texas.
