  • Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is weighing a possible presidential run in 2028.
  • He said the odds are roughly fifty-fifty and expects a decision after the midterms.
  • Paul previously ran for the Republican nomination in 2016 on libertarian-leaning ideas.

Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky recently addressed growing speculation regarding his political future during a national interview.

He acknowledged that a potential run for the White House in 2028 remains under serious consideration.

The senator said a final decision will likely come after the 2026 midterm elections.

He said he wants to represent a free-market, libertarian-leaning wing within the Republican Party.

“I don’t know yet, so maybe they know something I don’t know.

We’re thinking about it, and I would say 50-50.

We’ll make a decision after the election,” Paul said.

National media outlets have already identified Paul as a potential contender for the post-Trump landscape.

His previous 2016 campaign focused heavily on constitutional limits and fiscal responsibility before he returned to his Senate duties.
