Support Truthful Giving This Lent Season

Clear Facts
- Lent is an opportunity for purposeful giving, supporting values like life, family, faith, and freedom.
- Bishop Joseph Strickland emphasizes the importance of donating to causes that promote truth.
Lent presents a unique opportunity for Christians to engage in meaningful giving. This season of reflection and sacrifice encourages us to ensure that our contributions support the core values of life, family, faith, and freedom.
For many, including my wife and me, this means reassessing where our financial support goes, ensuring it aligns with our beliefs.
In recent times, we’ve discovered that some organizations we previously trusted have strayed from their original missions. This realization has made us more vigilant, especially during Lent, about directing our almsgiving towards initiatives that uphold authentic freedom, marriage, and effective charity.
I had the distinct honor of working with Bishop Joseph Strickland for over five years in the Diocese of Tyler, Texas.
His dedication to truth and faithfulness has been inspirational. Even after he became “Bishop Emeritus,” our connection remains strong, and I continue to assist him from Chesapeake, Virginia.
During a recent visit, as we shared a meal, my wife posed a straightforward question to him: “Bishop, can you help us? Who and what should we give to?”
His response was both simple and profound:
“GIVE TO THE TRUTH!”
This advice resonates deeply, prompting me to encourage others to support initiatives that align with these values.
As the Gospel of St. John reminds us, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
Freedom, when not rooted in truth, can lead to enslavement, making it imperative to support platforms that promote genuine freedom.
By contributing to these causes, you ensure that millions worldwide can access truthful reporting on life, faith, family, and freedom.
