Taylor Swift joined Travis and Jason Kelce’s podcast and joked that the show “got me a boyfriend ever since Travis decided to use it as his personal dating app.”
She recalled, “This dude didn’t get a meet-and-greet, and he’s making it everyone’s problem. That’s what I thought at first… You realize he didn’t even reach out to our management. He came with Pat [Mahomes] and he thought that because he knows the elevator lady, that he could talk to her about just getting down to my dressing room.”
Travis Kelce credits attending Swift’s Eras Tour as the event that led to their relationship. He shared that being at her show inspired him to want to meet her, which prompted him to pursue her further.
“I was sitting there at the Eras Tour listening to every single one of those songs being like, ‘I know exactly what she wants me to do,'” he said. “I’m the luckiest man in the world.”
After Travis’s public interest, the two started dating. Swift appeared at her first Chiefs game that fall. She said of his effort to meet her, “I’m glad it worked.”
“I was like, ‘If this guy’s not crazy, this is sort of what I’ve been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager,'” Swift stated.
Swift added that once Travis made his move, friends and people in her life told her positive things about him, helping her decision. She described feeling like she “was in an ‘80s John Hughes movie” as the relationship unfolded.
Their relationship initially developed while traveling during her tour, but now Swift enjoys being off the road and getting back to her usual activities.
Swift spoke fondly of her “granny” hobbies, such as baking, sewing, and painting. “I’d say all my hobbies could be categorized as hobbies you could have had in the 1700s,” she said.
Currently, baking sourdough bread is her favorite pastime, a skill that Travis has joined in as well, with Swift admitting his bread was even better than hers.
Swift announced her next album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” will be released October 3.
