WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Former President Donald Trump may soon launch his own social media platform, per his spokesman Jason Miller.
  • Miller said that Trump’s new platform will attract millions of people.
  • YouTube lifted its temporary ban on Trump’s account, while Facebook was still discussing whether they would lift the ban on the former president’s account.

According to his spokesperson Jason Miller, former President Donald Trump was planning to make his way back to social media by launching his own social platform.

“I do think that we’re going to see President Trump returning to social media, probably in about two or three months here, with his own platform,” Miller said on Fox News Sunday.

Miller remarked that it “will be the hottest ticket in social media” that will “completely redefine the game.”

“Everybody is going to be waiting and watching to see what President Trump does but it will be his own platform,” he continued.

The planned move followed months after Trump was banned in various social media platforms, which include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. These are the largest social networking sites with billions of users combined worldwide.

Miller did not disclose whether Trump would build his own social media empire or will seek partnership with other existing platforms. He noted, though, that it would be “big once he starts.”

“There have been a lot of high-powered meetings he’s been having at Mar-a-Lago with some teams of folks who’ve been coming in,” Miller said, claiming that “numerous companies” have reached out to the former president about starting a social media venture.

“But I think the president does know what direction that he wants to head here and this new platform is going to be big and everybody wants him,” the spokesman said.

He touted that Trump’s new platform would attract “millions and ten of millions” of people who will join the site.

Amid Trump’s ban on social media, his team has regularly provided commentaries via emails on social and political issues ever since he stepped down from office.

He also participated in some interviews for Fox News, Newsmax, and One America News Network.

The announcement came as an amusing fact as former Trump aides previously argued that the ex-president was content with his present communication set up with the public.

Earlier this month, YouTube announced that it would lift its temporary ban on Trump’s account after the “risk of incitement to violence” subsides. On Twitter, the former leader’s account was permanently shut down last January, while on Facebook, an ongoing debate is happening to decide whether they would continue the restriction or otherwise.
