The NFL continues to deal with unsportsmanlike conduct that undermines the integrity of the game.

C.J. Gardner-Johnson was ejected late in the first half of the Buffalo Bills’ victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

The incident occurred after Gardner-Johnson and Raiders tight end Brock Bowers exchanged words following a play.

Officials ejected the Bills safety for unsportsmanlike conduct after he spat in Bowers’ direction.

Jim Nantz called the act “about as disrespectful as it gets” during the CBS broadcast.

Gardner-Johnson showed little remorse as he left the field, smiling and laughing on his way to the locker room.

Joe Brady addressed the ejection after the game.

“The discipline of our football team has to improve and that sure as hell can’t happen.”

“It definitely has to be addressed.”

Gardner-Johnson later posted on Instagram, claiming he needs to control his emotions better.

Reports indicate this may not be his first such incident.

Kyle Juszczyk of the San Francisco 49ers stated Gardner-Johnson previously spat on him during a game last season.

“This is the least surprising thing ever.”

The NFL has suspended players for similar behavior in recent seasons, including Ja’Marr Chase and Jalen Carter.

Gardner-Johnson has already been fined multiple times this year and faces the possibility of further discipline from the league.
