The Kentucky Wildcats pulled off another dramatic victory, defeating the tenth-ranked LSU Tigers 35-34 in overtime. The Wildcats secured the win with a walk-off two-point conversion, marking the second straight week they have won in such fashion.

Both teams traded scoring drives throughout regulation, with LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt throwing for 275 yards and Kentucky quarterback Kenny Minchy throwing for 246 yards. The game remained tied at 27-27 at the end of regulation, with LSU receiving the first possession in overtime.

Leavitt started overtime with a 10-yard pass and followed it with a 15-yard touchdown run to give LSU the lead. Coach Lane Kiffin sent out the kicking team, and Scott Starzyk converted the extra point to put LSU ahead by seven.

“LANE KIFFIN SHARES WHY HE DECLINED TO HAVE A RUNNING CLOCK IN SECOND HALF OF LSU’S BLOWOUT WIN OVER MCNEESE”

Kentucky responded with a 1-yard touchdown run by running back CJ Baxter. Coach Will Stein kept his offense on the field for the two-point conversion attempt.

“WHO’S REALLY PLAYED THE BEST THUS FAR THROUGH THE FIRST HALF OF THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON?”

The two-point attempt included several timeouts called by both coaches. LSU appeared to expect a pass play, allowing Minchy to run untouched into the end zone for the winning score.

This victory marks the first time an FBS team has won back-to-back overtime games by a single point. Kentucky has now won two consecutive games in this dramatic fashion.
