The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office dismissed the case against Daniel Stern, known for his role in “Home Alone.” The decision follows the completion of requirements set by officials in California.
Berk, Stern’s attorney, appeared in court on his behalf during the proceeding.
“The case was dismissed with prejudice as it should have been from the start and we’re very pleased,” Berk stated.
Senior Deputy District Attorney Twyla Atmore informed the judge that the case was being dropped entirely. The court was told specifically that Stern finished a diversion program as part of the standard disposition for first-time offenses of this nature.
“The defendant did what he was supposed to do,” a Ventura County District Attorney’s Office representative said.
“He completed his education class and earned a dismissal. This is our standard disposition for first-time prostitution offenses,” the statement continued.
A source indicated that the case was viewed as not provable.
Police cited Stern in a December operation but did not detain him. He faced a misdemeanor charge and could have received up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted.
