The 2023 season saw Bland leading the NFL in interceptions and setting a benchmark for pick-sixes. He tallied nine interceptions and returned five of them for touchdowns.
An early-season foot injury kept Bland to seven games last year. He returned in November after missing ten contests but still managed 29 solo tackles and a forced fumble.
The Cowboys made headlines with the Parsons trade, which netted them immediate defensive help in Kenny Clark and future assets. Jerry Jones, owner and general manager, addressed the trade by stating, “Not only do we immediately get a player, but those draft picks could get us top Pro Bowl-type players.”
With Parsons’ contract off the books, Dallas gained extra room to retain valuable players like Bland. Staying proactive, the team ensured Bland did not reach free agency after next season.
