The administration argues that these programs create unnecessary financial burdens that are ultimately passed down to the American public. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized that the move focuses on ensuring merit-based employment standards.

“President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order eliminating racially discriminatory “diversity, equity, and inclusion” (DEI) practices by Federal contractors and their subcontractors, ensuring merit-based and efficient contracting and employment,” Leavitt shared.

Beyond private contracting, the administration is targeting DEI influence across the broader federal landscape. This includes a commitment to removing these ideologies from the military, the State Department, and educational institutions.

“We will terminate every diversity, equity, and inclusion program across the entire Federal Government,” Trump vowed.

Recent investigations have already begun exposing the extent of race-based policies in other agencies. The Department of Housing and Urban Development recently launched a probe into a mortgage program that allegedly excluded applicants of European, Japanese, Arab, or Jewish ancestry.

“Persons of European, Japanese, Arab, or Jewish ancestry do not appear to qualify,” the department stated regarding the exclusionary loan program.
