ICE Officer Injured, Suspect Killed at Chicago Stop

- A man was fatally shot after allegedly injuring an ICE officer during a vehicle stop in Chicago.

- Both the officer and the suspect were hospitalized, and the suspect died from his injuries.
During a Friday vehicle stop in Chicago, ICE officers confronted a suspect who allegedly attempted to evade arrest by driving at the team.
An officer was hit and dragged as the suspect fled the scene. Authorities have not explained why the man tried to escape.
“Fearing for his life, the officer fired his gun and struck the suspect,” an ICE spokesperson said.
Medical aid was provided to both men, and they were transported to a hospital. The suspect was later pronounced dead, while the officer remains in stable condition despite severe injuries.
The suspect’s name has not yet been released. Officials indicated that the investigation is ongoing.
“Viral social media videos and activists encouraging illegal aliens to resist law enforcement not only spread misinformation, but also undermine public safety, the safety of our officers and those being apprehended,” stated the ICE spokesperson.
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker posted on social media: “I am aware of the troubling incident that has unfolded in Franklin Park. This is a developing situation and the people of Illinois deserve a full, factual accounting of what’s happened today to ensure transparency and accountability.”
