White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt challenged the media’s coverage following the FBI’s seizure of ballots and documents from Fulton County related to the 2020 election.
A federal judge in Georgia has now ordered key documents from this raid to be made public, increasing transparency into the FBI’s investigation.
Judge J.P. Boulee, a Trump nominee, gave the government a deadline to submit the documents with the necessary redactions.
“Although Petitioners originally filed this case under seal, both parties have now indicated to the Court that they do not oppose unsealing the docket or the motions filed by Petitioners,” Boulee wrote.
He added, “Moreover, Respondent has stated that it does not oppose the unsealing of the search warrant affidavit and any other papers associated with the warrant subject to the redaction of the names of nongovernmental witnesses.”
The FBI raid occurred on January 28 at the Fulton County Election Hub, with agents searching for ballots, tabulator tapes, electronic ballot images, and voter rolls.
Last week, Fulton County officials requested the return of around 656 boxes of original 2020 election materials seized by the FBI.
Fulton County, a heavily Democratic area, gained attention after President Trump claimed fraud cost him Georgia in the 2020 election, which was carried by Joe Biden.
