Clear Facts

  • Koe Wetzel, the 34-year-old Texas-born country singer, shared photos of a massive bull elk he harvested with a compound bow in Oklahoma.
  • Wetzel has hunted since childhood, received his first bow at age 8, and maintains year-round archery practice even while touring.
  • Country artists including Luke Combs, Riley Green, Parker McCollum, Sam Barber, and Chris Janson have also reported successful hunts this season.

Country music artists continue to celebrate a strong hunting season with notable successes in the field. Koe Wetzel added to that momentum by posting images of a large bull elk taken with archery equipment.

The harvest follows Wetzel’s earlier comments that October through February are off-limits for professional commitments due to hunting priorities. His recent Instagram post featured the elk with a compound bow laid across its body and carried the simple caption “Oklahoma Breakdown.”

“October to February don’t call me cause you’re probably not gonna get a nice response,” Wetzel stated during a June appearance on the “Country Outdoors” podcast.

Wetzel’s background in the outdoors dates to his East Texas upbringing, where he learned to value traditional hunting practices long before his music career developed. He has previously harvested large bull elk in New Mexico, including one taken at a rifle distance exceeding 540 yards and another measuring over 380 inches.

The latest success reinforces the pattern among country performers who maintain strong connections to hunting and outdoor traditions. Several other prominent artists have documented comparable achievements during the current season.
