WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • The world governing body for aquatic sports has adopted a new policy for transgender athletes.
  • FINA now bans transgender athletes to compete in women’s events.
  • Only athletes who transitioned before the age of 12 will be allowed to participate in women’s events.

FINA, the world swimming’s governing body, has adopted new policies for transgender athletes. The committee will now only allow swimmers who transitioned before age 12 to compete in women’s events.

On Sunday, FINA members voted 71.5% in favor of the new “gender inclusion policy” at the body’s general congress. The 24-page policy will apply to all swimming events starting Monday.

The new policy also includes proposals for a new category they call “open competition.” FINA said it was setting up “a new working group that will spend the next six months looking at the most effective ways to set up this new category.”

The members voted after hearing presentations from three specialist groups – an athlete group, a science and medicine group and a legal and human rights group. The three groups had been working together to form the policy after receiving recommendations from the International Olympic Committee in November.

The IOC recommended shifting the focus from individual testosterone levels and looking for evidence to prove when an athlete has a performance advantage.

Swimmer Lia Thomas made history last month when he became the first transgender woman to win an NCAA swimming championship.

Governing bodies of other sports have also been reviewing their policies.

Cycling’s governing body has also updated its eligibility rules for transgender athletes on Thursday. New stricter limits will now force cyclists to wait longer before they can compete.

The International Cycling Union (UCI) increased the transition period for low testosterone to two years, and lowered the maximum accepted level of testosterone, the AP reported.

Previously, the transition period was one year. However, according to the UCI, the latest scientific studies show that “the awaited adaptations in muscle mass and muscle strength/power” among transgender athletes who have made a transition from male to female takes at least two years.

Thank goodness that some people are coming back to somewhat to using at least more Common Sense! For me though as a Christian who Believes from Scripture that God Created them Male & Female, PERIOD and has judged any perversions clearly listed in as the lists that will not make it into Heaven, I can’t accept any man despite surgery reassignment or undergoing hormone & estrogen therapies at any age or any point as anything other than a Man from birth to death. For any and all of us who have come out of these lifestyles when we asked Christ to come into our hearts & lives as Savior & Lord, we were immediately made New Creatures/Creations in & by Christ Jesus & His new life within us. That’s why it says in those passages, “And such “Were” some of you! God doesn’t hate any of us, nor does he reject any of us when we sincerely repent (turn away) from our past sin(s) & lifestyles. He gives us the Strength & His Patience as we walk out of & away from our past lives of sin. No just gay, lgbtq, sexual immorality, but also all the rest of sins that separate us. Any & All Sin & not having Received Him at all is Sin. He Loves us All (including all LGBTQ people) way too much to leave us bound in, to or by any sin that separates us from “HIM”! Love you All so Much! Thank you for taking this Stand!

A lot of women out there won’t like this but this was brought on by the women’s rights groups. They claim women are equal to men. As far as civil rights of course, but not physically. Sure, there are exceptions but the best of the best of women are not equal physically to the best of the best of men. That is a fact. But according to the women’s rights movement women should be considered equal in every way. They should be paid the same as men for jobs they can’t perform the same as men. Loading trucks or airplanes or working a conveyor belt, firefighters, or anything that requires physical strength and endurance. In combat in the military where you may have to pick up another wounded soldier and transport him to safety. In general women need help from another person more than a man.
Men and women are different and anybody who disagrees with that fact is an idiot. Two men can’t produce a baby and neither can two women.
So while I agree with the decision to not let transgenders compete in a sport of the opposite sex they were born into, this was brought on by the women’s rights movement crying about women being equal in every way.
