WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • A court in Moscow sentenced a student activist, Dmitry Ivanov, to 8.5 years in prison for social media posts criticizing Russia’s war in Ukraine.
  • Ivanov was convicted of spreading false information about the Russian army, which was made a criminal offense under a new law that Russian lawmakers rubber-stamped a week after Moscow sent troops into Ukraine.
  • The legislation has been used to prosecute individuals who deviate from the government’s official narrative of the conflict.

On March 8th, a court in Moscow sentenced a 23-year-old student activist, Dmitry Ivanov, to 8.5 years in prison for social media posts criticizing Russia’s war in Ukraine. According to reports, Ivanov was convicted of spreading false information about the Russian army, which was made a criminal offense under a new law that Russian lawmakers approved a week after Moscow sent troops into Ukraine.

The legislation has been used to prosecute individuals who deviate from the government’s official narrative of the conflict, which the Kremlin insists on calling “a special military operation.” Prominent opposition politicians, such as Ilya Yashin and Vladimir Kara-Murza, have also been charged with spreading false information about the military.

Ivanov was charged over a number of social media posts in his Telegram channel that called Russia’s campaign in Ukraine a “war” and talked about Russian forces attacking civilians and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, committing war crimes in the Kyiv suburbs of Bucha and Irpin, and targeting the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

Most were reposts from other sources. Ivanov initially was jailed for 10 days on the charge of organizing an unauthorized rally. Authorities jailed him again on the same charge for 25 days, and then he was arrested over the social media posts.

During Ivanov’s trial, the court approved a defense request to subpoena Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov, and Russia’s ambassador to the U.N., Vasily Nebenzya. Ivanov’s lawyers argued that since the authorities had used the officials’ statements to prove that Ivanov’s social media posts contained false information, they should be deposed in court.

However, none of the three officials complied with the subpoenas to appear in court. In his final address to the court, Ivanov rejected the charges against him as “looking absurd” and said the crime he was prosecuted for “shouldn’t exist at all.”

Michelle running for president, is this a joke? What has she contributed to our country? I remember some dumb silly stuff that was a failure. Barak was stirring up some things that were cured in the past. Which should have never been brought up again. He was the beginning of what is happening in our country currently. I believe he has been whispering in Joe Bidens Ear all along. Cause he spoke of him having a third term. What a classy jerk. I recommend he sits back with a nice beer and the two of them Michelle too just fade away. Buy by!!!

All us Americans want to live in peace and harmony as we have been achieving. We don’t need any communists telling us what to do or how to do it. You commies are sick sick creatures. If you can only see yourself with our American eyes. Don’t look now but you have become obvious. We see you for the swamp rats that you are. Scum. Aren’t you ashamed of yourselves for all the filthy lies you have been perpetrating. Your time is and has come. You will be on the other side of the fence swimming with the sharks. Your blood will be in the water. Not ours! We have a God and he has a plan and there is a Hell. Shummer and Nancy and all other liars who feel so confident you will succeed. Don’t hold your breath you may need it when you are on the run. All you have done with all the lies etc. Will come back to bite you in the ass. I guarantee it.

The simple fact is Russia is Russia and they must play by their playbook no matter how much it hurts. Now here in America we call it control by the Communalist Democrats of the Communist Democrat Party who uses wokeism as their method of removing the RIGHTS of the American citizen.

Well is that not as bad as how the Biden Administration and the unprincipled lap dog of his, Attorney General Merrick Garland, are treating the AMERICAN NAVALNYs based on false accusation of participating in an insurrection on January 6, 2021.

FREE AMERICAN NAVALNYS, or tell us more about the “BIGGEST AND BEST FRAUD ORGANIZATION” Joe Biden boldly talked about during his campaign days.

If the voters aren’t careful, America will be headed in the same direction. It’s not that the liberal commie Democrats hate the first Amendment, they hate the U.S. Constitution, period. The trend has started. In Israel the PM wants to reign in the Israeli High Court, whish is causing massive protests. Don’t give any ideas to Lying Corrupt Quid Pro KING Joe, who in a heartbeat would reign in the U.S. Supreme Court, by packing the Court with liberal radicals, rubber stamping everyone of Corrupt Quid Pro’s Unconstitutional edicts. Packing the court could effectively nullify the 1st and 2nd Amendment, putting America on Par with a government patented after Communist China.
