A Michigan man stands convicted of second-degree murder and tampering with evidence following the 2021 disappearance of his wife. Investigators ultimately discovered her remains inside a fertilizer tank marked as out of service on her husband’s property.

Prosecutors argued during the trial that the marriage was severely strained and that Warner made intentional choices to end his wife’s life. They noted that the defendant could have sought help but instead chose to prevent her from breathing.

I was getting these, call it a gut feeling if you like, whatever you’d call it, but I was very suspicious of his mannerisms.

Gregg Hardy, the victim’s brother

Hardy noted that throughout the long investigation, the husband failed to act like a concerned spouse. The family used the public billboard campaign to shame the killer and keep the search for the truth active.

Those were all conscious decisions.

Prosecutor Jackie Wyse

The defense claimed there was reasonable doubt and highlighted that the husband cooperated with initial searches. However, the discovery of the body inside the tank proved central to the conviction.

You are not here to judge Mr. Warner as a husband.

Defense attorney Mary Chartier

Justice finally arrived for the Warner family after years of uncertainty and a dedicated search for their loved one. The case highlights the persistence of family members in seeking accountability when a loved one vanishes under suspicious circumstances.
