Clear Facts
- Scott Jennings and Bakari Sellars engaged in a heated debate over illegal immigrants receiving Medicaid benefits.
- Jennings questioned Sellars on whether he supports Medicaid access for illegal immigrants, leading to a tense exchange.
- The discussion highlighted broader issues of illegal immigration and healthcare access in the United States.
In a recent televised debate, Republican strategist Scott Jennings and former Democratic South Carolina State Representative Bakari Sellars found themselves at odds over a contentious issue: the use of Medicaid by illegal immigrants. This debate comes amid discussions in Congress over a Trump-backed bill aimed at reforming Medicaid and curbing its use by illegal immigrants.
Jennings pressed Sellars on his stance, asking directly if he supports illegal immigrants benefiting from Medicaid. “According to your logic train, we need to let more illegal aliens into the country, give them more health care to keep all the hospitals —” Jennings began, only to be interrupted by Sellars, who insisted on clarifying his position.
“Are you for it or not?” Jennings persisted. Sellars, attempting to articulate his point, responded, “My logic train starts with the fact that I don‘t want to — I don‘t want to kick 11 million people off of Medicaid —”. The exchange highlighted the deep divide on this issue, with Sellars ultimately stating, “Do I want undocumented citizens to have health care? The answer is yes.”
The debate intensified when Democratic congressional candidate Kat Abughazaleh joined the fray, questioning Jennings on his stance regarding healthcare for diabetics among illegal immigrants. Jennings maintained, “I want Medicaid to exist, first and foremost, for American citizens who need it.”
The conversation took another turn when Sellars attempted to shift the focus to the contributions of undocumented workers in agriculture. “How about this? When the people that are — that are picking your peaches —” he began, only to be cut off by Jennings, who remarked, “So passionate.”
Sellars defended his position, asserting, “Yeah, I’m passionate about Americans,” to which Jennings retorted, “Very passionate for the illegals.” This exchange underscores the ongoing debate over immigration policy and healthcare access in the United States, a topic that remains highly polarized.
The discussion also touches on broader issues of border security and the influx of illegal immigrants during the Biden administration. According to data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), millions of illegal immigrants have been encountered, many of whom have been released into the country.
As the debate over Medicaid and illegal immigration continues, it remains a flashpoint in the broader conversation about healthcare and immigration policy in America.

How can anyone advocate stealing from our Medicare system to support people who have no business being in our country?

Patrica;
YOU ARE 100++ percent right. It just sickens me to see how Freddy and selfish politicians do for scores of others and ignor or make it so hard to get compensated as we should. I put in 22yre military as well as a Fire Fighter in the government and as thousands of us exposed to the foams as well as toxic agents for 32 years. I have lost several friends and people I worked with and it took almost 15 years to earn the extra money for SS as I paid into from jobs, etc.m as a 1TERM ELECTED OFFICIALS CAN DO EVEN 1 term and guess are pd forever!
TERM LIMITS NEEDS TO BE FULFILLED AND CHANGES TO ELECTED OFFICIALS RESTITUTION.

Here is my thought on the subject. Let’s add a line on the federal income tax return form so a person can donate a portion of their tax refund to help pay for illegals medicals and whatnot. A new department could be established, probably staffed with one not very bright individual because, I suspect, the total donations would barely cover that individuals wages. This way, those that think the government should pay the illegals bills, whatever they may be, could do so and I, who DOES NOT WISH TO DO SO would not have to see my hard earned tax dollars peed away on ILLEGAL ALIENS!
A grammar question, is the above DOES or DO? “Inquiring minds want to know.”

I am so in favor of term limits, I’ve had my fill of “woke” democrats trying to destroy this country. If the democrats want to supply free medical to the Illegal Aliens then the democratic party should pay for it and they can start by turning in all funds in the democratic party machine coffers to replace the money they have stolen to support the tens of millions of “illegal Voters” they have allowed into our country by disregarding our laws and facilitating unrestricted entry through our borders! BTW, I would also like to see all members of Congress be required to live and abide by the same laws and rules that any US Citizen has to!

I’ve said before on numerous other topics that when ya start with a faulty premise you WILL end up with a faulty result. In this particular case There Is No Such Thing As An Illegal ‘Immigrant’ – IOW if they are here illegally they are not immigrating but are breaking laws – that makes them ‘illegals’ and severely limits any entitlements they feel they should get. The ONLY medical care they should receive is for immediate life threatening injuries, stabilize them and send them back to where they came from. End of discussion.
