Under the leadership of the Biden-Harris administration, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has come under fire for allegedly advancing a radical agenda worldwide. Former USAID officials have accused the agency of promoting leftist ideologies, such as diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), which they argue have weakened America’s global influence.

Max Primorac, who served in various capacities within USAID during the Trump administration, criticized the agency for exporting what he described as a “radical image.” He stated, “It did tremendous harm to our national security interests by alienating a lot of people around the world.” Primorac highlighted that even in generally liberal countries like France, there was resistance to what he termed “woke nonsense.”

The agency’s spending practices have also come under scrutiny. Elon Musk, head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), noted that Trump supported a full shutdown of USAID due to its questionable expenditures. Musk revealed, “With regard to the USAID stuff, I went over it with him in detail, and he agreed that we should shut it down.”

A significant portion of USAID’s budget was reportedly allocated to controversial programs, including millions for leftwing media subscriptions and $50 million for condoms in Djibouti. Additionally, the agency funded projects like secret schools for women in Afghanistan and a Sesame Street-like show in Iraq, raising questions about the effectiveness and necessity of these initiatives.

Dr. Mark Moyar, a former USAID official appointed by Trump, uncovered that unelected bureaucrats were allegedly concealing the true nature of the agency’s spending. Moyar explained, “The LGBTQ kind of stuff, climate change, they would conceal that by saying, ‘Well, this is really economic growth or health or something else.'”

Moyar also detailed an internal practice known as the “DEI privilege walk,” where employees were assigned identities and asked to step forward or back based on perceived privileges. He described the exercise, saying, “At the end the white guys are farthest forward. I, as the white female, was second, and then other people are behind. It’s to show your privilege.”

When Moyar attempted to expose alleged corruption within the agency, he faced retribution. He reported, “I ended up reporting four or five people, four of my subordinates and somebody above me, and most serious of this was criminal conflict of interest.” Despite his efforts, Moyar was dismissed from his position and accused of publishing classified information, an allegation he vehemently denies.

The handling of Moyar’s whistleblower complaint has drawn attention from Republican lawmakers, including Sen. Chuck Grassley. Grassley criticized USAID for not properly investigating Moyar’s claims and noted that the accusations against him were “unfounded.” Grassley stated, “I will further note that DOD has yet to provide Dr. Moyar with what is alleged to have been classified information in his book — information that is still available for public purchase online.”

The situation at USAID raises significant concerns about the agency’s direction and accountability, as well as the broader implications of its spending and ideological initiatives.
