NFL Distances from Butker’s Christian Values, Questions League Stance

Published

on

Clear Facts

  • Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker upheld Christian values and criticized President Joe Biden’s pro-abortion stance during a speech at Benedictine College.
  • The NFL distanced themselves from Butker’s sentiments, with NFL Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Jonathan Beane stating, “His views are not those of the NFL as an organization.”
  • The league’s contrasting response to Butker’s speech and Colin Kaepernick’s national anthem protest has raised questions about the NFL’s stance on personal values versus social justice initiatives.

Harrison Butker used his platform at Benedictine College’s graduation ceremony to uphold Christian principles, critique the current administration’s stance on abortion, and encourage men to maintain their masculinity. He further emphasized the importance of motherhood, asserting it as a paramount calling for women.

Now, a pronounced dissonance has erupted between Butker and the NFL, with the latter declaring a clear divergence from the former’s conservative Christian values.

Jonathan Beane, NFL Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, stated,
“Harrison Butker gave a speech in his personal capacity. His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.”

Apart from challenging the policy on abortion and the “cultural emasculation of men,” Butker voiced his criticism against the celebration of Pride Month, labeling it as emblematic of “deadly sins.” He roped in President Biden’s pro-abortion stance into his comments, stating,
“He has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I’m sure to many people it appears you can be both Catholic and pro-choice.”

The NFL’s open disapproval of Butker’s sentiments sets up a stark contrast from its handling of Colin Kaepernick’s national anthem protest. The league never publicly disagreed with Kaepernick’s comments.

Moreover, when Butker speaks on Christian values to a Christian audience at a Christian university, the league seemingly finds it necessary to dissociate themselves from his views.

In an unexpected twist, the NFL not only did not oppose Kaepernick’s views, but they adopted key points of his cause and established Inspire Change, a social justice initiative. This organization generously donates millions annually to groups advocating for defunding or completely abolishing the police force.

The NFL had a powerful reason to dissent from Kaepernick’s views, considering they were not only controversial but were also thrust upon their audience during a live game and via NFL facilities.

In contrast, Butker shared his views during his own time and at the behest of an audience that shared his beliefs. Ideally, the NFL should not have felt obligated to respond unless they felt the need to do so, which in this case, they did, and therein lies the problem.

In conclusion, if the NFL intends to convey that their values align more closely with Colin Kaepernick and Black Lives Matter rather than Christian family men like Harrison Butker, they are managing to do so.

The NFL has joined The Radical Left Democrat Party of Death Degradation and Deviancy! Butker’s Commencement Speech was meaningfully delivered,

He expressed the Thoughts and Beliefs of Millions of Christian American People!

The NFL is all about anti-religious beliefs and will tell you so. They are in the business of making money and they will show favoritism in anti-religion comments and anti-God remarks. They are trying to be aligned with whatever faction goes the way of the majority of people, so they think. There are a lot more Christians than who aren’t. May you all have a blessed day to include all NFL personnel.

It’s long overdue to really punish the NFL for their lack of support for Christians and conservatives.
They will feel it in their purse if good Americans stop spending their hard earned money on an organization that despises us.

The NFL is a disgrace–I watched this young man’s speech and thought it was right on. The fact that the Roger Goodell and the NFL stand with the Woke community defines what the NFL really is. This young man should be applauded for his wonderful speech. I did not hear one thing wrong-he didn’t put anyone or anything down he just spoke about his thoughts on Life Liberty and the pursuit of happiness he and his wife share. NFL-Goodell you owe this young man a national TV apology–are you man enough to give it or are you willing to destroy the NFL. Stand for something or fall for anything and this WOKE Bull that is going around is destroying the USA. Right now the NFL is a disgrace. put a woman in–just how stupid can you be.

The NFL Management shows to us FANs once again, that they have no “Backbone” to deal with difficult circumstances, – AKA NO BALLS!
They feel comfortable in “going to bed with the WOKE THUGS”, than to listen to our TRUE America Values & our FAMILIES … It is in their DNAS!
GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS HARRISSON BUKTER AND HIS BEAUTIFUL FAMILY.

Fans have had to put up with the wokeness attitude of the NFL during games, etc. Seems like the NFL can’t put up with views that oppose their own. And the NFL claims that they are being tolerant and inclusive? Hmmmmmm…. Thanks to Mr. Butker for having the courage to speak up!!

This wokeness thing has been going on for a while in the NFL. Remember Tim Tebow? Great football talent and Heisman Trophy winner who could have had a milestone career, pushed out of the league in a subtle way because of his faith.

The NFL needs to experience the same response as Budweiser, Disney, and Target have. Otherwise this idiocy will continue to fester.

When a young NFL player lay on the field unconscious and not breathing, he was surrounded by playing brothers on their knees in prayer for his recovery. Who were they praying to NFL? The football gods?

Why is the NFL even commenting or getting involved? Mr. Butker was not talking for the NFL or the Kansas City Chiefs – but as a private citizen as a devout Catholic speaking to a Catholic School.

My stand is the NFL OWES MR. BUTKER AN APOLOGY and then they need to publicly state that they have no reason or need to comment or get involved with what a PRIVATE CITIZEN says on his own time outside of his work.

    God Bless you Mr. Butker!

The NFL has openly admitted to being WOKE-in other words stupidity at its best. This young man had and has every right to speak what he believes. I am sure he can get another job as a football player away from the WOKE NFL crap. The NFL has lost its game!! NIX NIX
