Rep. In her post, Ocasio-Cortez wrote, “Wow who would have thought that electing a rapist would have complicated the release of the Epstein Files?” This remark has been met with a wave of criticism, as many point out that Trump was never found liable for rape in the civil case brought by writer E. Jean Carroll.
In 2023, a New York jury found Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation, but not rape, which is a crucial legal distinction. Critics argue that Ocasio-Cortez deliberately ignored this distinction. Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) commented on the situation, stating, “Even under the ridiculously lenient standards of NY Times v. Sullivan, you’ve managed to incur defamation liability.”
Another user on X suggested that Ocasio-Cortez should consider removing her tweet, referencing past legal troubles over similar remarks about Trump.
The reference stems from a lawsuit Trump filed after false claims that he had been “found liable for rape.” The case was settled for $16 million, with a public apology issued.
Laura Loomer, a vocal critic, labeled Ocasio-Cortez’s tweet as “defamatory” and urged Trump to pursue legal action similar to the past case. Loomer stated, “I hope you are sued by Trump for this the same way others were sued and forced to pay.”
As of Saturday evening, Ocasio-Cortez has neither deleted the post nor responded to the mounting criticism. The situation continues to unfold, with many watching to see if any legal actions will be taken.

She should, at the very least, be censured. The comment was totally uncalled for. I hope President Trump takes her to court.

She should be sued for defamation if nothing else . But anything that’s done will just call attention to her stupidity and to her . She wants someone to sue her , be it the president or T Homan . Look at the publicity she will get . Her look at me attitude . If anyone is going to take her down , they will have to bring her to her knees , and send her running .

First, what objective evidence did the jury have to prove that Trump even had sex with her. I certainly would NEVER have wanted to have sex with her, aside from the fact that I’ve been married to the same spouse for over 50 years, there is no proof that she doesn’t have AIDS or some other type of STD. To me, her accusations all seem to be mechanisms to gain attention for herself and/or advance her political aspirations.

The bright side for AOC is that Jasmine Crockett has burst on the scene and she makes AOC almost look smart. St what point did the Democrat Party get so ignorant and inept? That transformation is just amazing. They have no point, no goal nothing productive! President trump lives in their heads rent free and that has driven them crazy. This is the direct results of HATE!

With Ocasio-Cortez and Crockett these two nit wits should be thrown out of congress. They are both a disgrace to the USA. Oh, sweetie-you cannot rape a willing soul!! Just remember that. Trump never “raped” anyone-those women were willing and wanted money-disgraceful women!!
