Pakistani Man Pleads Guilty in Brooklyn Terror Plot

A Pakistani citizen living in Canada has admitted to plotting a terrorist attack on American soil in the name of ISIS. Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, 21, pleaded guilty to attempting acts of terrorism transcending national boundaries after law enforcement intercepted his plan.
Court records say Khan began distributing ISIS propaganda in 2023. He later communicated his violent intentions to undercover officers and sought AR-style rifles and hunting knives.
Assistant Attorney General John A. Eisenberg noted the severity of the planned attack and Khan’s targeting of the Jewish community.
“Khan planned a mass shooting at a Jewish center in New York City, timed to coincide with the anniversary of the October 7th Hamas attacks, with the explicit goal of killing as many Jews as possible,” Eisenberg stated.
U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton said the disrupted plot was a victory for law enforcement and for religious safety.
“Today’s guilty plea makes unequivocally clear: terrorism and other hate-based violence have zero place in New York City,” Clayton said.
Khan also bragged about the concentration of Jewish residents in New York. He is scheduled for sentencing on August 12, 2026, and faces a maximum penalty of life in prison.
