Super Bowl Menus Get Major Shakeup This Year

Clear Facts

- Batch cocktails and sparkling drinks are trending for parties.
As Super Bowl Sunday approaches, many Americans are organizing festive gatherings and reconsidering their usual game day menus.
Classic snacks like chicken wings and nachos remain staples, but this year chefs notice a rise in innovative dishes and healthier options.
Kathryn Neidus, executive chef at StoneWater Golf Club in Ohio, explained that dips are becoming more creative, with varieties like jalapeño popper dip, hot bacon pickle dip, and crab Rangoon dip now gaining popularity.
“There’s also more experimentation with what to pair them with — from wonton chips to air-fried vegetables.”
Health trends are influencing choices, as Neidus suggested replacing sour cream with lighter options such as cottage cheese or Greek yogurt for dips.
Inventive sliders are also making their mark at gatherings, including baked Italian sliders, Buffalo chicken sliders, ham and Swiss with caramelized onions, and barbecue brisket sliders.
“They’re also highly customizable, with the option to finish the buns with herbs, cheeses or seasoning blends for added flavor and presentation,” she added.
Party hosts are updating familiar side dishes with touches like caviar, crispy prosciutto, vinaigrettes, or extra spice for a fresh take.
Neidus pointed out a continuing trend toward lighter, more health-conscious sides, such as Buffalo cauliflower bites or avocado fries.
“There’s also a continued focus on lighter, more health-conscious options,” as opposed to usual fare, as shown above, one chef told Fox News Digital.
Beverages are important, too, with batch cocktails and sparkling alternatives gaining ground for convenience and variety.
“[This] is an easy and convenient option, especially when paired with fun, thoughtful garnishes,” she said.
Super Bowl parties across the country look set to feature a mix of traditional favorites and exciting new dishes inspired by these ongoing trends.
