  • President Donald Trump’s doctor declared him in “excellent overall health” after a scheduled evaluation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday.
  • The medical visit involved advanced imaging, laboratory tests, and preventative health assessments from a team of specialists.
  • Trump received updated COVID-19 and flu shots during the visit as part of health preparations for international travel.

President Trump underwent a routine semiannual physical and follow-up evaluation on Friday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

During his visit, he also met with troops stationed at the hospital.

“President Donald J. Trump successfully completed a scheduled follow-up evaluation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center,” Navy Capt. Sean P. Barbabella, the physician to the president, wrote in a memorandum to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.

Barbabella confirmed the evaluation was a part of Trump’s ongoing health maintenance, featuring comprehensive imaging, laboratory testing, and preventative health assessments by multiple specialists.

He added, “Comprehensive laboratory studies performed in conjunction with the visit were exceptional, including stable metabolic, hematologic and cardiac parameters.”

Barbabella’s summary concluded that Trump “remains in exceptional health, exhibiting strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical performance.”

During this visit, Trump also received his updated COVID-19 and flu vaccinations to prepare for international responsibilities.

“President Trump continues to demonstrate excellent overall health,” Barbabella declared, also noting that Trump’s cardiac age is “approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age. He continues to maintain a demanding daily schedule without restriction.”

Friday marked Trump’s second health checkup this year, with a similar exam conducted in April where he was also found to be in excellent health.

The president was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency in July after noticing mild swelling in his lower legs and was evaluated by the White House medical team.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated the bruising observed on Trump’s hand was due to frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin.
