Senator Raphael Warnock recently equated modern Christian support for Donald Trump with historical justifications for American chattel slavery.

During a conversation with CNN, the Democrat pastor rejected the idea that the former president serves a divine purpose.

"And there were Christians who thought that slavery was, you know, somehow God-like—American chattel slavery—and they justified it. And they used Scriptures to support their position," Warnock stated.

The senator also called Trump’s immigration and street safety policies forms of bigotry and cruelty.

He said his job is to hold power accountable rather than bless actions he considers unjust.

"I have to be honest about what he’s doing," Warnock said regarding the president.

"His kind of unabashed, unvarnished bigotry; the cruelty that he is unleashing on American streets through his version of ICE."

A White House spokesperson responded by noting that Trump has consistently fought for religious freedom and the protection of biological truth.

The administration emphasized its commitment to protecting parents' rights and maintaining fairness in women's sports.
