Sherrone Moore, previously the University of Michigan’s football coach, is facing charges of stalking and home invasion. Moore was arrested shortly after being fired from his role earlier in the week for an inappropriate relationship with a staff member.
The Washtenaw County prosecutor’s office said Moore is accused of “unlawfully entering the dwelling of a victim with whom Mr. Moore had a dating relationship.”
Details of the alleged relationship remain undisclosed, but the university confirmed credible evidence was found following an investigation.
Warde Manuel, Michigan’s athletic director, stated the conduct was “a clear violation of university policy.”
Moore, who last year signed a five-year contract with a base salary of $5.5 million, will not receive a payout for the remainder of his contract, as termination was for cause.
