Brent Clifford, son of Doug Clifford, the renowned drummer from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band Creedence Clearwater Revival, is facing murder charges. His girlfriend, Patricia Portella-Wright, aged 48, was found dead off Mt. Rose Highway in Washoe County, according to local authorities.
The charges against Clifford are related to Portella-Wright’s death. However, her remains have not been officially identified. “There is apparent foul play involved,” said Placer County Sgt. David Smith. He also mentioned the continuous efforts of investigators over the past week to “bring closure to Patricia’s family and locate Patricia’s body.”
Interestingly, Clifford is also suspected to be linked to another homicide in Reno, as indicated by the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. Patricia Portella-Wright, who lived in Kings Beach, California, was reported missing on the morning of Sunday, Aug. 4, and her disappearance was reported the next Friday.
The ongoing investigation led the Sheriff’s Office to the area of Mt. Rose Highway. “Using a drone we were able to locate the body of a female down a steep embankment,” they reported. Patricia’s boyfriend, Brent Clifford, became a person of interest during the investigation.
Clifford was apprehended in Portola, California, on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. He is now held at the Placer County jail on a murder charge. The circumstances surrounding the alleged murder remain uncertain.
According to jail records, the 55-year-old Clifford is held in detention without the possibility of bail. Moreover, the sheriff’s office stated that Clifford is a person of interest in a Reno homicide.
This second homicide case involved a male victim found on Sunday, August 11th. The victim’s red 2003 Chevrolet Blazer was found in the same area where Clifford was arrested.
Currently, the investigators are awaiting the Washoe County Coroner’s Office confirmation on the identity of the remains.

And pray tell exactly WHAT does his actions have to do with his father? I mean if you have proof that the former CCR drummer had anything to do with this then bring it foreword. If not then lay the blame where it belongs, on his son and leave the father out of it.
