President Trump responded to recent speculation about Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, calling her performance “fantastic.”
“I read a story recently that I’m unhappy with Kristi — I’m so happy with her… We have a border that’s the best border in the history of our country. Why would I be unhappy? She’s fantastic, actually,” Trump said during a roundtable with business leaders on Wednesday.
Claims had circulated that White House officials, including Stephen Miller, wanted to replace Noem due to concerns over detention center construction and handling of disaster relief funds.
The administration firmly denied these allegations at the start of the week, criticizing the reports as false and unfounded.
“Everything about this is total Fake News. Secretary Noem is doing a great job implementing the President’s agenda and making America safe again. MS Now continues to beclown themselves by inventing narratives that simply are not true,” stated White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson.
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin dismissively compared the rumor to stories about Big Foot in an exclusive statement.
Trump also addressed rumors about dissatisfaction with War Secretary Pete Hegseth, expressing strong support and describing him as “phenomenal.”
The president praised other cabinet officials such as Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Education Secretary Linda McMahon during the discussion.
