WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • The U.S. top official for COVID-19 testing remarked that Dr. Anthony Fauci is not entirely correct on his claims on the outbreak situation.
  • Following the coronavirus’s sudden surge in several states, Fauci recommended that the reopening measures be put off.
  • President Trump recently made claims that 99% of COVID-19 infections are harmless.

Adm. Brett Giroir, the top official for COVID-19 testing in the U.S, commented on Sunday that America’s famous infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci is not entirely accurate because he sees the outbreak differently.

During an interview with  Chuck Todd of “Meet the Press” in NBC,  the Trump Administration’s testing head commented about a Washington Post report that indicated an authority was saying Fauci has inaccurate claims for many aspects of coronavirus pandemic.

Giroir said that while he respects Dr. Fauci,  he believes the expert is not correct. The testing head added that Fauci once admitted that his observations do not cover the whole nation’s interest in mind.

He said that the White House task force holds a meeting at least three to four times per week, with a clear and truthful discussion, adding that the task force’s head, Vice President Mike Pence is very open for suggestions.

The testing czar further stressed that the White Houses is seriously taking the crisis with policies based on science. He also believed that shutting down the economy is no longer necessary to most states across the country.

Giroir warned, though, that Americans should always practice social distancing, wear face masks, and stay away from crowded places like bars.

Fauci, the notable director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has been alerting the U.S. in the last few weeks as COVID-19 cases remain to surge in some regions of the country.

Last week, he encouraged states facing spikes in cases to hold off their reopening plans.

President Donald Trump also disproved Fauci last week, claiming the U.S. is an ideal place with the outbreak, while the expert said the coronavirus situation in the U.S. is terrible.

Fauci also said he does not promote the president’s claim that 99 percent of COVID-19 infections do not cause harm, noting that that is untrue.
