Clear Facts

  • A former Louisiana teacher faces 25 charges involving the alleged abuse of minor students.
  • The investigation began following complaints of an inappropriate relationship between the suspect and a former student.
  • Authorities identified multiple victims while conducting a joint investigation with state and federal agencies.

Marisa Noel, a 31-year-old former teacher at Teche Elementary School, was arrested following an extensive investigation by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office. She faces a wide array of charges including first-degree rape, indecent behavior with juveniles, and possession of child sexual abuse material.

Sheriff Becket Breaux initiated the probe in late January after receiving reports of misconduct. The investigation subsequently expanded as more victims were identified through evidence discovered by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation and Homeland Security.

Court records indicate that Noel was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. While her previous bail was set at $750,000, no bond has been established for the most recent set of charges added to her case.

Officials emphasize that the investigation remains ongoing as they work to ensure all potential victims are identified. It is currently unclear if the suspect will face additional charges as the legal process moves forward.
