Michael Cohen: NY fraud lawsuit will ‘put an end’ to Trump Organization [Video]

Michael Cohen, former President Donald Trump’s ex-personal attorney believes the New York probe into possible fraudulent practices in the Trump Organization would put “an end” to the company.
Speaking to MSNBC’s Chris Hayes on Wednesday, Cohen weighed in on the ongoing probe in New York into the Trump Organization. Cohen used to work as Trump’s fixer and confidante for ten years.
Four years ago, Cohen pleaded guilty to felonies that included tax evasion, campaign finance violations, and bank fraud. In December 2017, he was sentenced to three years in prison and was disbarred in February 2019 by the New York Supreme Court.
In the MSNBC interview, Cohen told Hayes that the investigation against the Trump family would “ultimately terminate the Trump Organization — Donald, Don Jr., Ivanka, Eric, Weisselberg, McConney, and the rest of them.”
“This is going to put an end to the entire company,” he added.
New York Attorney General Letitia James on Wednesday announced the $250 million civil lawsuit, the culmination of a three-year probe into the Trump family and their business practices.
Cohen referenced Allen Weisselberg, the Trump Organization’s former chief financial officer and Jeff McConney, Weisselberg’s right-hand man. Weisselberg admitted in August to orchestrating a payroll tax-dodge scheme at the company.
“I’ve been sitting on the mountaintops yelling for three-and-a-half, four years, which is that the Trump Organization is a criminal enterprise and that I got thrown under the bus by dear old Donald,” he said.
Cohen also predicted that one or two of Trump’s children will have to “fall on the sword” for their father. Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump are all listed in the AG’s lawsuit.
Cohen said he received a shoutout from James when she announced the suit on Wednesday. The former lawyer said he felt that he was “finally getting recognition” for his role in the investigation. James, who seeks to bar the Trump family from conducting business in New York, has accused the former president of inflating his net worth by billions.

I understand that the baks themselves check out the value of a property, and don’t rely on the owner. So if the bank approved, no problem.

The estimated value of a property you apply to a bank for a loan, especially a multi-million dollar loan is very complex and considers a wide range of issues.
By default, some involve estimating. Everyone who deals in commercial real estate knows this.
Committing active fraud is exceedingly difficult, because every number you enter is double and triple checked.
I would surmise that most of these loans and records have already been examined by Trump’s enemies. If they had found a residue of fraud, they would already have known it years ago.
I think their goal is to “involve” family members and distract them from working on his campaign. Also, most Americans have no idea how these loans operate and it allows his enemies to muddy the water.
I would not pay much attention to Trump’s previous attorney convicted of crimes. I don’t think he is very bright. He just wanted a wealthy client.
