Impersonator Exploits Planet Fitness Policy, Sparks Outrage

A disturbing event transpired last week in North Carolina, when a man was apprehended for allegedly pretending to be a woman and stripping in a Planet Fitness women’s locker room. This unsettling incident happened when Christopher Allan Miller purportedly took advantage of Planet Fitness’ “gender identity” policy and entered the women’s locker room at a gym in Gastonia, North Carolina.
Miller allegedly undressed fully and suggested to a woman in the locker room that they should apply lotion to each other and share a shower. A woman finally called 911 to report the incident. She told the dispatcher, “It’s a man but he says he identifies as a woman, and he won’t leave the restroom. But he is just walking around showing us his — and he won’t leave.”
Following the incident, Miller was detained in the Gaston County, North Carolina jail and identified as a male in his online inmate record.
As the controversy has grown, Planet Fitness member Betty Brice has voiced her anger and disgust over the incident. “I think a woman should be able to go into a woman’s bathroom without a man coming in saying he’s transgender,” Brice stated.
Planet Fitness Chief Corporate Affairs Officer McCall Gosselin addressed the incident, emphasizing the gym’s commitment to safety. He said, “At Planet Fitness, the safety of our employees and members is our top priority, and we have zero tolerance for harassment of any kind in our clubs. We took immediate action to ensure the safety of club members, including notifying and working with law enforcement.”
This incident comes shortly after another controversy last month, where a woman claimed her Planet Fitness membership was terminated after she allegedly took a photo of a man in the women’s locker room.
In a statement about the woman’s membership termination, a Planet Fitness representative said, “As the home of the Judgement Free Zone, Planet Fitness is committed to creating an inclusive environment. … Our gender identity non-discrimination policy states that members and guests may use the gym facilities that best align with their sincere, self-reported gender identity. The member who posted on social media violated our mobile device policy that prohibits taking photos of individuals in the locker room, which resulted in their membership being terminated.”
Planet Fitness founder and former CEO Mike Grondahl expressed his profound disappointment about the impact of these incidents on the brand he worked tirelessly to build. He said, “Planet Fitness was like another child for me. And I put my heart and soul into building that company and it’s been pretty much destroyed in, ya know, it’s lost all respect within the country within the last couple weeks. There’s no common sense standing behind this.”
In the wake of the public backlash over these incidents, Planet Fitness has seen a significant drop in its stock price, losing around 15% within two weeks of the woman publicizing her locker room experience.

Planet fitness just lost another potential customer I was looking to join a gym after retirement to stay in good shape but it sure won’t be planet fitness and I am a man but I believe that there are only two sexes male and female and anyone that believes differently is obviously misguided at the least and mentally unstable at the worst.

2 Simple solutions: 1. Inforce policy based on a person’s biological gender. 2. Build another locker room for those who are confused about their gender.
I too was planning on joining our local PF gym, but will wait to see how this washes out.

Since I was going to join Planted Fitness but now they can kiss my money goodbye. I will do my workouts at home. Shame on them for making such decisions. A woman should feel safe at a gym. It is not a place for sexual assault to happen.

PF is one of the cleanest gyms I have used. Now the BUT, I agree PF could install a Gender-Neutral locker room to solve the confusion. Or put a barrier in one of the larger locker rooms with a separate door for neutral-gender people.

My friend and I have been going to our local Planet Fitness three times a week since we joined. We love using the Circuit BUT we are having serious conversations about leaving due to this NEW policy! Why should we women have to be the ones to comply with this policy? Isn’t that a sexist policy? If this “person” wants to join our gym, tell “it” to go to the bathroom BEFORE coming in OUR GYM!

And in doing so look how many women and young girls have been attacked in girls bathrooms. Why did the democrats allow this stupid BS to begin is the right question to ask.
