Clear Facts

  • Taylor Sheridan, co-creator of “Yellowstone,” recently shared his political thoughts on former President Donald Trump’s removal from the Colorado primary ballot for 2024 during a conversation with Joe Rogan.
  • Sheridan expressed concern about the precedent set by Colorado’s decision, suggesting it could lead to a future where any individual could be removed from a ballot based on untried accusations.
  • Sheridan, who spends his summers in a remote part of Wyoming, criticized the lack of meaningful services provided by the federal government in return for taxes.

Taylor Sheridan, the co-creator of the popular TV show “Yellowstone,” made a rare political comment during a conversation with podcaster Joe Rogan on January 4.

Sheridan, whose work is often hailed as a profound depiction of human sociology and political navigation in modern social hierarchies, is not typically known for sharing his political views.

However, during his recent appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” he voiced his thoughts on the removal of former President Donald Trump from the Colorado primary ballot for 2024.

“That’s dangerous as shit,” Sheridan told Rogan, expressing his concern about the implications of Colorado lawmakers’ decision.

He suggested that it felt like a prelude to a full Democrat dictatorship.

“People can think of Donald Trump however they want to think of Donald Trump. It really doesn’t matter who the individual is,” Sheridan continued. “A court in Colorado is going to essentially make a decision based upon a trial that has not happened yet. They’re basically saying he’s guilty of something he hasn’t been tried for, and they’re removing him from a ballot.”

Sheridan further elaborated on the potential long-term consequences of this decision.

“Right now, maybe, the Democrats feel they are justified in that action because they’re so terrified of what Donald Trump may do if he becomes president again, but are they thinking about what’s going to happen in 20 years or 30 years because this has now been established?” Sheridan asked, urging listeners to consider the precedent being set.

Sheridan also highlighted the Democrats’ past actions, reminding listeners of the contested 2000 election.

“People had forgotten that Al Gore and the Democratic Party — and I didn’t vote for George W. Bush — they contested that election then. They said it was rigged. They took it to the Supreme Court. We didn’t have a president, really, for almost two months,” Sheridan said, pointing out the perceived hypocrisy of Democrats throughout and following Trump’s presidency.

Sheridan’s comments reflect his general disdain for macro politics and a lack of favoritism towards any leaders in the federal government.

He shared a personal anecdote with Rogan about his summers spent in a remote part of Wyoming, where the closest government office is a 12-hour drive away and the local DMV is open for just an hour on Thursdays.

Sheridan noted that the only thing he and his neighbors receive from the federal government is a tax bill, with no meaningful services in return.

Despite some in Hollywood possibly labeling him as a conservative, Sheridan clarified that he is not. Rather, he is a patriot who is discerning the broader implications of our current political reality.

Clear Thoughts (op-ed)

Taylor Sheridan’s recent comments on Joe Rogan’s podcast highlight a significant concern in our political landscape. Sheridan, although not known for his political commentary, presents a valid point about the potential dangers of removing an individual from a ballot based on untried accusations.

Colorado’s decision to remove Trump from the 2024 primary ballot sets a precarious precedent. Sheridan questions whether this paves the way for a future where any individual could be removed from a ballot based on unproven claims. It’s a sentiment that transcends political lines, and it’s an issue that demands our attention.

Sheridan also criticizes the lack of meaningful services provided by the federal government in return for taxes. His experiences in rural Wyoming underscore a feeling shared by many Americans, a feeling of being overlooked and under-served by an increasingly distant government.

Sheridan’s comments are a stark reminder that our political system needs careful scrutiny, regardless of our personal political leanings. Whether conservative, liberal, or somewhere in between, it’s crucial we remain vigilant in safeguarding our democratic processes.

I think MSNBC is wrong to have broadcast Ms. Jordan’s views. She can say what she believes but that B. S. Should be advertised to the means available to private citizens not the media. Her comments are truly multi-syllabic diatribe.

Removing someone from a ballot to protect democracy – the ultimate paradox, of which they appear utterly oblivious. Would they leap into a swimming pool to dry off? As if wanting another four years of King Joe isn’t clear evidence of insanity.

I’m sorry but must I remind people that the visual evidence is pretty clear on Trump and his zombies. Also as far as taxes go, keep in mind it’s the Republicans that keep throwing more and more money at the military instead of helping real Americans. At least Biden is trying to turn the country around.

I fly around the mountains, ridges, canyons, lakes, high snows, basin-and-range, cowboy and elk hunting country of Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Colorado, Nevada. What do those city slickers now about people like us down on the land and up in the skies over most of America? How dare they ruin our country and turn it into a “socialist paradise” for welfare dependents? This had better not happy in my country!!! Let’s stand together and shout out.

Biden is a brainwashed Obama zombie who thinks socialism is the only way to keep people in line. Biden has lost all control and is NOT turning anything around for good, just turned around all the good that Trump was bringing. Socialist can’t stand to lose as you can see for yourself. Socialist will lie, cheat, steal, and stab you in the back with one hand while they grab your money with the other.

For those states who have removed Trump’s name from their ballots, you have the FREEDOM to WRITE Trumps name in! What I find very stupid, is the fact the no matter their political affiliation, is that they keep calling this NATION a Democracy! Really? I have read through our US CONSTITUTION, I haven’t seen the word, “democracy” anywhere in the CONSTITUTION! Are they trying to “BRAIN WASH WE THE PEOPLE?”

Trump should be removed. He violated the 14th Amendment clause 3. It has been adjudicated in Colorado and several other states came to the same conclusion. It does not need action by the legislature or the courts. There are at least 8 cases as precedent for this. Beyond Jan 6th there is the theft of National Defense Secrets and sharing them with journalists and foreign citizens without clearance or authority. That alone should make him unfit for anything but Leavenworth.

President Trump was a great Leader & we were safe, price of gas food & pharmaceutical products were lower. The pipelines were opened & many job’s were lost the minute corrupt Joe Biden took office. He closed pipelines opened borders & gave our enemies Iran money . Plus no Wars when Trump was president.
Now there are wars open boarders & our democracy is being destroyed by an ignominious. Who does not protect our democracy & our great country. Anyone that votes for him is immoral & ignorant. God Save 🇺🇸🇮🇱
