AOC Says Trump ‘Gave Up His Power’ to Elon Musk

Clear Facts
- Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claims Elon Musk holds more power than President Donald Trump currently does.
- Ocasio-Cortez criticized Trump for allegedly relinquishing his power to Musk, accusing Musk of appointing young, inexperienced individuals to government roles.
- Trump appointed Musk as the volunteer head of the Department of Government Efficiency, emphasizing that Musk’s actions require White House approval.
In a recent online session, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) expressed her concerns about the influence that Tesla CEO Elon Musk allegedly holds over President Donald Trump. According to Ocasio-Cortez, Musk’s power surpasses that of the president, a claim she shared with her 8.5 million Instagram followers during a lengthy discussion on “dismantling fascism.”
Ocasio-Cortez’s remarks seem to echo the sentiments of the “resistance” movement that gained momentum during Trump’s first term, with popular slogans like “not my president” circulating widely.
“What Donald Trump has done is that he has completely given up his power and handed a lot of it over to Elon Musk,” Ocasio-Cortez stated. She further accused Musk of appointing young and inexperienced individuals to significant government positions, saying, “Elon Musk has appointed some teenagers and some people in their early 20s into essentially trying to raid government systems.”
The representative’s criticism of Musk is not new, as the two have often clashed online over various issues. This time, Ocasio-Cortez did not hold back in questioning Musk’s intelligence.
“This dude is probably one of the most unintelligent billionaires I have ever met or seen or witnessed,” she commented. “They don’t do their homework, clearly. Like, they’re putting 19-year-olds in at the Treasury. This dude is not smart. … I mean, this guy is one of the most morally vacant, but also just least knowledgeable about these systems that we really know of.”
Despite her criticisms, Trump has continued to support Musk, appointing him as the volunteer head of the Department of Government Efficiency. This role involves Musk leading a team of “small-government crusaders” to collaborate with the White House Office of Management and Budget.
While signing additional executive orders, Trump assured that “Elon can’t do and won’t do anything without our approval,” suggesting a level of oversight over Musk’s actions.

There are people in mental asylums in way better shape than her. She is a total crackpot and why they elected her, then re-elected her is beyond wonder.

Still, Musk is bad for this country. He is robbing us blind and his pet President is an accomplice.

Didn’t all the women who did not vote for Hillary Clinton “give up their power to their husbands?” She alluded to that when she said they didn’t vote for her because they listened to their husbands. Taking advice from someone is not the same thing as giving them power of any sort, other than that of giving advice. No president has ever sat in the Oval Office without advisors, and many of them listened to those people. Did they, in fact, give up the power of the presidency by listening to these advisors? No, of course they did not. Instead, they acknowledged, just as Trump did, that some problems are too big for one person to solve.
