Chadwick Boseman celebrated Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris.

In his last tweet before his death, actor Chadwick Boseman celebrated Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris.

On Aug 11, the “Black Panther” star posted a photo of himself and the California senator with the caption: “YES @KamalaHarris! ????????????????????????,” the caption reads. “#WhenWeAllVote #Vote2020”

It was the day Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden announced that he has chosen Senator Harris to be his running mate.

In the photo, Boseman and Harris embrace during a 2018 fundraiser for Families Belong Together, a nonprofit organization that helps to keep immigrant families from being separated at the US-Mexico border.

Boseman, who became a household name for portraying King T’Challa of Wakanda and his alter ego Black Panther, died Friday of colon cancer. His family said he’s been battling the disease since 2016.

After his death, Sen. Harris tweeted the same photo and wrote: “Heartbroken. My friend and fellow Bison Chadwick Boseman was brilliant, kind, learned, and humble. He left too early but his life made a difference. Sending my sincere condolences to his family.”

Boseman and Harris both graduated from Howard University, a historically Black college in Washington, DC. The actor received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in directing while the senator double-majored in political science and economics.

Boseman was focused on getting out to vote. He talked about the first time he voted in a 2018 public service announcement with “Captain America” Chris Evans and “X-Men: First Class” cast member Zoë Kravitz.

“I wasn’t sure where to put it, where to slide it in,” Boseman said in the announcement, referring to his ballot. “Let’s rise up, register, and let our voices be heard.”

Boseman’s final tweet had more than 34 million retweets and 167,000 likes as of Saturday. And his fans shared their grief.

Rob Anderson, a Democrat who is looking to unseat Republican Clay Higgins in Louisiana’s Third District, posted: “This was Chadwick’s last Tweet. Now, we just have to win the whole damn thing. For the King and Kamala.”
