Charlie Woods, the son of 15-time major golf champion Tiger Woods, has chosen Florida State University to play college golf.

He joins the Seminoles as part of their 2027 recruiting class, marking a decision to pursue a different direction from his father, who attended Stanford.

As a junior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach, Charlie quickly climbed the national junior golf rankings after his victory at the Team TaylorMade Invitational in May 2025, finishing with a 54-hole score of 15-under 201.

His win propelled him to 21st in the Rolex AJGA rankings, up from 604th before the tournament.

At the Boys Junior PGA Championship in July 2025, he tied for ninth place.

Later that year at the Rolex Tournament of Champions, he finished 18th and capped November by helping his high school team win the FHSAA Class A state championship with a strong 4-under 68 in the final round.

Choosing Florida State continues a family tradition of success in golf, but represents a break from Tiger Woods’ collegiate choice.
