  • Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-Glens Falls) called New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo a “sexual predator” who should immediately resign.
  • Her fellow lawmakers from New York joined her call for Cuomo’s resignation following Lindsey Boylan’s sexual assault allegations.
  • The governor has denied the accusations.

New York Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-Glens Falls) called for the immediate resignation of Gov. Andrew Cuomo, whom she called “a sexual predator” following sexual harassment allegations by his former aide, Lindsey Boylan.

The congresswoman declared that “any elected official who does not immediately call for his resignation is complicit in allowing a sexual predator to continue leading the great state of New York.”

Boylan, who is now a Democratic candidate for Manhattan borough president, stated her accusations in an online essay. She claimed that the governor kissed her “on the lips” without warning in his Manhattan office back in 2018.

Stefanik stated, “Governor Cuomo has earned his title as Worst Governor in America, and now every New Yorker knows that he is a criminal sexual predator.”

“I have served in Congress during the height of the #MeToo movement leading to resignations and retirements of my colleagues,” she continued. “Sexual harassment and sexual abuse in the workplace is not a political issue, it is about right and wrong. Governor Cuomo must immediately resign.”

Several other New York lawmakers agreed and expressed their support for Boylan.

Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-Staten Island) told The Post, “I already called for Gov. Cuomo to resign over his mishandling of nursing homes, the [death toll] coverup, and for threatening Assemblyman Ron Kim. These allegations are disgusting and, if true, are all the more reason why Cuomo needs to go.”

Malliotakis also called for an objective investigation of Boylan’s claims by the state Joint Commission on Public Ethics. She added, “Cuomo appointees should recuse themselves so it is truly independent.”

Regarding Boylan’s accusations, State Sen. Alessandra Biaggi (D-The Bronx) tweeted, “I have no doubt that this is true. I’ve witnessed similar behavior, and it’s unacceptable.” She then called for others to speak up.

Assemblywoman Yuh-Line Niou (D-Manhattan) tweeted, “I believe her. Imagine going to work every day with this kind of fear. I know what it is like.  So many of us do. It must end. It is never ok to normalize or accept predatory and abusive behavior.”

Cuomo has denied Boylan’s allegations in January, saying it’s “just not true.” Caitlin Girouard, his press secretary, stated on Wednesday, “As we said before, Ms. Boylan’s claims of inappropriate behavior are quite simply false.”
