WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Former communications heads and officers of the Republican National Committee (RNC) voted against Trump in this year’s presidential election.
  • Former President George W. Bush’s administration communications official, Lisa Miller was also amongst those who voted for Biden, noting her choice was for the country.
  • Trump’s first White House press secretary Sean Spicer, meanwhile, posted on Instagram showing his choice was still the president.

On Monday, Four ex-communications heads at the Republican National Committee (RNC) did not vote for President Trump for election this year, reports have confirmed.

Ryan Mahoney, who was in charge of the communications system for the party for the first two years of President Donald Trump in office, showed via Twitter his vote for former Vice President Joe Biden.

A similar move was made Monday by Doug Heye, a director of communications for the RNC during the Obama administration’s earlier years. He posted on Twitter the same day that he had transcribed in the party’s 2012 nominee, Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah). Heye’s forerunner, Trevor Francis, confirmed with The Hill that his vote was for Biden.

In an email Monday, communication officer for ex-President George W. Bush’s administration, Lisa Miller,  confirmed she also voted for Biden. She added that her choice was for the country over the party.

The latest development showed that the past party officers were in unison to support Biden over Trump, an exceptional list of Republican planners, former Bush administration executives, and senior party heads who have gone out of ranks for their choices.

The group who supported Biden also includes two ex-RNC chairpersons, namely Marc Racicot, the former governor of Montana who headed the commission during President Bush’s term, and Michael Steele, who assumed the RNC office immediately following President Obama’s election win.

Both 2016 Republican presidential nominees, past Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R), and previous Hewlett-Packard chief executive Carly Fiorina also confirmed voting against Trump in favor of Biden.

Meanwhile, former RNC communications officer and Trump’s foremost White House press secretary, Sean Spicer, published a post on Instagram, showing that he voted for the incumbent president.
