Greg Abbott orders National Guard to send migrants back to border

- Texas Governor Greg Abbott has issued an executive order directing the National Guard and state troopers to send illegal migrants back to the border.
- Abbott blamed the move on the Biden administration’s decision to end Title 42.
- After the tragic discovery of dozens of dead migrants in an abandoned tractor-trailer last week, Abbott tweeted that “These deaths are on Biden.”
Governor Greg Abbott has ordered the Texas National Guard and the state’s Department of Public Safety to send apprehended migrants back to the border.
The Republican governor said in a news release Thursday that he issued an executive order “authorizing and empowering” the two organizations to start returning the migrants. He blamed the Biden administration’s decision to end Title 42 — a public health directive implemented by the Trump administration to allow the barring and expulsion of migrants at the border during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“While President Biden refuses to do his job and enforce the immigration laws enacted by Congress, the State of Texas is once again stepping up and taking unprecedented action to protect Americans and secure our southern border,” Abbott said in a statement posted on Twitter.
“The cartels have become emboldened and enriched by President Biden’s open border policies, smuggling in record numbers of people, weapons, and deadly drugs like fentanyl.
The governor has repeatedly criticized Biden’s “open border policies” and refusal to enforce the law. After the tragic discovery of 50 dead migrants in an abandoned tractor-trailer in San Antonio, Texas, last week, Abbott blamed the president, saying “These deaths are on Biden” and his “deadly open border policies.”
In April, Abbott sent a bus carrying a group of migrants to Washington D.C. as part of his strategy to oppose the Biden administration’s revoking of Title 42. Shortly before Title 42 was set to expire on May 23, a federal court blocked the ending of the restriction.
The Supreme Court last week ruled that President Biden could end the Remain in Mexico policy, officially titled Migrant Protection Protocols. The policy allowed U.S. officials to send migrants without proper documentation, including asylum seekers, back to Mexico to wait while going through court proceedings.
Abbott vowed that Texas “will continue to take action to address those challenges caused by the Biden Administration.”

It’s about time. There are many of us who would be willing to go to the border if deputized and end this illegal nonsense in about a month. All we need is authorization and a weapon and its all over. This is an invasion.

All the border state governors should simply declare an invasion at the border and take appropriate action based on their powers. Stop every single one of the illegal border crossings and compel the federal government to do their jobs and obey and enforce our laws. All these people are not seeking asylum. The catch and release program is a sham. over 2 million have been released into our country and transported at our expense to cities to across the country. Every state should refuse to take them. 2 million that we know about. I would think that, by definition is an invasion. We need a way to negate Biden EOs (Congress?) and order the enforcement of our laws from this lawless admin. The people are sovereign in our constitutional republic and NO COUNTRY allows this except us. There should be recourse to replace our admin when they fail to comply with the people’s wishes represented by our laws.

Doing something is better tha doing nothing! How long are the US citizens going to pay their taxes while Biden gives the money, food stamps, health care, housing, busing and flying these illegals all over the country! How many of these people are free of disease? How many have prison records,are drug dealers or sickly. It has to stop! Thank you governor for taking a stance for all Americans!

In refusing to round-up & deport all these illegal aliens in accordance with existing law the federal government is violating the 14th Amendment right of every American to equal protection under the law. An entire class of criminals – and let’s face it, no matter what new label the liberals want to place on them this year they are here in contravention of the law and are hence, by definition, criminals – is being ignored while thousands of citizens are being prosecuted for the laws they break. The Dems seek to make tens of thousands more Americans into criminals that they WILL prosecute with their unConstitutional laws violating 2nd Amendment rights and Due Process. “Selective enforcement” of laws on the books regarding illegal immigration is an act of criminal malfeasance on the part of politicians and law-enforcement officials.
Further, since illegals get counted on the Census and the Census numbers are used for apportionment of Representatives to Congress, States like California that have high illegal immigrant populations are disincentivized from enforcing the law as the refusal to enforce allows them to steal House seats from other States, increasing their political power in Congress.
Time to start arresting politicians and cops who refuse to do their jobs and enforce immigration laws and to start filing lawsuits against “sanctuary” States and localities.

Fifty-three years ago, when newly elected Dwight Eisenhower moved into the White House, America’s southern frontier was as porous as a spaghetti sieve. As many as 3 million illegal migrants had walked and waded northward over a period of several years for jobs in California, Arizona, Texas, and points beyond.
President Eisenhower cut off this illegal traffic. He did it quickly and decisively with only 1,075 United States Border Patrol agents – less than one-tenth of today’s force. The operation is still highly praised among veterans of the Border Patrol.

There is no telling what country these people are coming from. We don’t know their reason for being here. Criminal intent including terrorism, drug and people trafficking in and every other criminal element is coming here along with hundreds of thousands of poverty stricken people that don’t know the laws if the land are coming here… There has to be some kind of order at the border to insure national security…
The people that have been caught are but a very – very small percentage of the others that come across successfully…
