Hunter Biden Drops IRS Lawsuit Amidst Ongoing Controversy

Clear Facts
- Hunter Biden has withdrawn his civil lawsuit against the IRS, which was aimed at two whistleblowers, Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler.
- The whistleblowers accused the DOJ of obstructing the investigation into Hunter Biden’s financial dealings.
- Hunter Biden’s lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice, preventing him from refiling the same lawsuit in the future.
Hunter Biden’s decision to voluntarily dismiss his lawsuit against the IRS marks a significant moment in the ongoing saga surrounding his financial dealings. This move is seen as a victory for IRS agents Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler, who had earlier accused the Biden administration of hindering the investigation into Hunter Biden’s finances.
Shapley and Ziegler, who came forward as whistleblowers in 2023, alleged that the Department of Justice was obstructing the investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes and overseas business dealings. In response, Hunter Biden filed a lawsuit against the IRS, claiming that the whistleblowers aimed to publicly embarrass him by disclosing his tax information.
“It’s always been clear that the lawsuit was an attempt to intimidate us. However, we were always motivated by doing the right thing, defending our work, and honoring our duty to the American people,” the whistleblowers stated.
They added, “Intimidation and retaliation were never going to work. We truly wanted our day in court to provide the complete story, but it appears Mr. Biden was afraid to actually fight this case in a court of law after all. His voluntary dismissal of the case tells you everything you need to know about who was right and who was wrong.”
The dismissal of the lawsuit was with prejudice, meaning Hunter Biden cannot bring the same lawsuit again. This legal development comes after Hunter Biden pled guilty to felony tax charges in September 2024, following a conviction on felony gun charges earlier that year.
Both Shapley and Ziegler have claimed they faced retaliation for their whistleblowing efforts, which they argue exposed the misuse of government power to protect a politically-connected individual.
In a controversial move, former President Joe Biden issued a blanket pardon to Hunter Biden for any crimes or potential criminal activities dating back to 2014. This pardon was part of a series of expansive pardons granted to several family members on Inauguration Day in January.

Yes I think Hunter will be charged in the near future, as Joe’s pardons aren’t real. Karma
