The Stark County coroner’s office confirmed that Davis’s body was transported early Saturday to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy. This autopsy will be a crucial step in determining the cause of death in this tragic event.

Authorities are also actively reviewing surveillance footage from the cinema’s cameras in an effort to assist their ongoing investigation.

In response to the incident, Regal Cinemas took immediate action. The Massillon venue was temporarily closed, and all showtimes scheduled for Saturday were canceled. A notice on the theater’s official website further specified the company’s admittance policy, stating, “Ensuring the safety of our patrons and staff is always our top priority. If the theatres cannot protect you, why do they deny entrance by those who are prepared to protect themselves. I hate the killing of any individual-but the venues that cannot protect patrons, shouldn’t have a no weapon policy.
