WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Trump on Monday derides Joe Biden and former U.S President Barack Obama following a tweet calling out his golfing amidst the health crisis.
  • The president also directed his tirade towards media outlets for highlighting his golf course visit while his remarks against Biden were not underlined.
  • The series of attacks between two camps through Twitter continues amidst the coronavirus outbreak.

On Monday, President Donald Trump continued his criticism of former Vice President Joe Biden and ex-President Barack  Obama, following a tweet by the presumptive Democrat presidential nominee about his golfing amidst the coronavirus outbreak.

Trump brought his comments through Twitter on Monday morning, posting that mainstream news outlets made it appear as if his golf club trip in Virginia was a big deal over the weekend when he told the media about his rival’s failures in many aspects.

The president stressed that Biden had a lazy work ethic, while Obama spent most of his time on the fairway, adding that Barack would fly on 747 to Hawaii to play golf.

Furthermore, Trump lambasted Barack by claiming that the former president also played golf even on emergency ISIS situations, citing a murder incident that involved a young woman. He added that it was his administration that destroyed ISIS’s ruling.

Trump has repeatedly downplayed Barack’s approach against the Islamic State.

The recent series of tweets by Trump was a furtherance of Biden’s earlier criticisms against the incumbent administration’s management over the COVID-19 crisis.

On Saturday, Biden continued disapproving of Trump over his tweets, lambasting various targets, including his former Attorney General Jeff Sessions and co-host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host, Joe Scarborough.

Biden said that the presidency is more than just posting comments on social media, explicitly tweeting from a golf cart, and obviously referring to the president. He added that the position entails the person to call the shots and being responsible for it. Biden believes Trump was not ready for the presidency, but the former vice president claimed that he was prepared.

The Trump campaign also responded by disputing Biden and his tweets. They reiterated that Trump was only heeding the recommendations by Dr. Anthony Fauci, a well-known expert of the administration’s coronavirus task force. The latter advised Americans last week to celebrate Memorial Day weekend outside and specifically cited golf as an ideal activity.

Trump’s camp spokesperson, Tim Murtaugh, said that Biden should listen to the recommendation and step out of his basement hiding place.
