WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • A Norfolk Southern train transporting hazardous materials partially derailed Thursday near Detroit.
  • Authorities said there were no reported injuries and no sign of threat to the community.
  • The incident comes more than a week after a train carrying toxic chemicals derailed in Ohio.

A Norfolk Southern train carrying hazardous materials partially derailed Thursday near Detroit.

According to local authorities, the train derailed around 8:45 a.m. in the area of Huron River Drive between Martinsville and Haggerty roads in Van Buren Township, about 30 miles west of downtown Detroit.

Aerial footage showed at least six cars were derailed with some of them left sideways across the tracks. The derailment damaged the tracks and caused several sets of wheels to detach from the cars.

Officials said no injuries were reported related to the accident and there was no sign that hazardous chemicals were spilled.

“At this time no one is aware of the release of any hazardous materials, the car carrying hazardous material has been put upright and is being removed from the area of the other derailed cars, and EPA is dispatching a team to ensure public safety,” Rep. Debbie Dingell, a Democrat whose congressional district includes Van Buren Township, said in a statement.

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy said there was no evidence of threats to the community. Officials were sent to the scene to investigate the situation.

Authorities advised drivers and residents to avoid the area while the investigation continues. Several roads were temporarily closed by the derailment.

The incident comes nearly two weeks after a different Norfolk Southern train carrying toxic chemicals derailed in Ohio. The accident created concern about the safety of the water and air in the area.

The catastrophic derailment occurred 250 miles away in East Palestine, Ohio on Feb. 3. After several days, Norfolk Southern set fire to five train cars carrying vinyl chloride, releasing toxic chemicals into the water.

Nearly 2000 residents living in the Ohio village in East Palestine expressed concerns about returning home even after an emergency evacuation order is lifted. Some even said they may never return.

Some residents have since complained of respiratory problems like sore throats and coughs. Some say that their pets have become sick or died after the chemical explosion.

I wonder if someone is putting something on the tracks to cause this?

Kids crushing pennies. ? Maybe terrorist ? – If they could pin this on possible sabotage they would. Unless uncle sams boys clubs quash it, for awhile. Possible act of terrorism, maybe but I think the lack of maintenance for profit is more likely. Our rail system is not subsidized and has been deteriorting for 50 years. Our highways bridges and rail system made us great at 1945, the western silk road. If we do not invest in our infistructure we will not be able to compete into this century. Remember the ore is no longer flowing through the great lakes. US Steel is now mickey mouse as DC sold us out to the pacific rim. Especially after 92. It’s ok as Joe makes lots of money. Pie still being served.

They showed a video of one of the trains car’s throwing sparks and fire way before it derailed. Apparently, there may be two problems. One maintenance, the other is why wasn’t it noticed or an alarm created to notify the engineers on the train.

They cut back on help, trains are longer and they have no time to check them thoroughly. Saving money, in these industries, is dangerous…….especially when it comes back in the form of a derailment.

Didn’t Xiden say he was going to fix all the infrastructures? He certainly set the money aside for it. Check the bank, and off shore, accounts of all congress members…….that’s where you’ll find our infrastructure money. They’re still trying to figure out how to move a train with wind energy.

So four derailments in a short period of time ??
I’m going with it’s deliberately being done !!
Either by a certain leftist political party or friends of theirs from another country…
Maybe because this is a good way to get Tax Payers Money to pay for upgrades in the name of public health and safety without the rail owners having to dig into their own pockets !
We already know how much Traitor Joe loves the rail companies – He’s said it Many times over the past two years !!
That and a good way to grab people’s lands and force them into apartments in a city !!

No different than all the planes flying into food processing plants. It’s ALL by design.

It is past time for Americans to admit and realize our country is under attack from within. Fires strategically set, food storage compounds blown up or fireg, grain storage burned, millions of chickens euthanized, attacks on major energy stations, train derailments, cereal and meat packing plants purchased by CCP AND fentynol flooding into our country killing hundreds. WAKE UP AMERICA before its too late.

The train runs by my house. The ties are so rotton the track goes down into the ties as it goes by and come back up when the train has left. I am afraid we will have a train coming off the track and running thru my house one of these days. Very little work is being done on the tracks now and it was constructed about 83 years ago. They used to have people checking rails and ties when it was first built, but haven’t seen anyone in years doing that now.
